Esoteric Update #153 - Progress And Support

Starting this off with lore real quick:

Now for the dev progress... well, I went through about half of the texts that we accumulated for nonverbals and implemented them. It's moving towards a quite nice repertoire of different options that will help flesh out early game interactions. There's still some more to go through, and I've not just been working on that. I pushed through with a new option for the goal-based systems, a little addition that lets me play with the ordering of things, it's not important enough to really show it off, but it's vital for interaction construction. I've also polished off both the core goal-based options and the nonverbals, implementing or improving integration between them and some previously existing subsystems (consistency flags and pronouns being the two big things). Some things were implemented and then discarded, but that's how game development sometimes goes. Finally, I've written some new lore and more smut; once more, that's stuff you can read if you are on the Discord before it gets even close to being implemented in the game.

But there's one more important thing I want to mention.

For the last two days, I've been running someone through some of the game subsystems. It seems she'll be joining the team to help with writing. I've already vetted the quality of said literary proficiency, so I hope that this all goes well. If it does, we'll do a formal introduction next week.

The update is relatively short; the truth is, I just don't feel well enough to get into more details. But hey, it's all moving forward steady and slow. Maybe with more hands on deck it will get better still and finally take off?
