Esoteric Update #118 - Bookkeeping Round
So this week passed under the banner of bookkeeping, which I'll explain in a moment. To start this out though, here's the lore for this update:
Now then, moving on to the update. I found myself displeased with how my Grammarly looks, so I spent the last week cleaning it out. This is what came of it.
Firstly, I found a lot of semi-finished lore, I brushed up the texts and finalised them, leading to the total number of archived lore texts (and yeah I also archived them) to 149. This puts it very close to the number of texts in the Baldur's Gate series, which I set for myself as a milestone. Still not quite there yet, but I'm not going to try forcing it.
Secondly, I found a bunch of erotica, and I moved it all to the game. This brings the total number of erotica pieces available in-game through SmutLink up to 45 texts, about a dozen more than before. This includes a few lengthy texts written by Desertopa. Unfortunately, I've also started writing more erotica as well but oh well.
Thirdly, I found some random NPC conversations that didn't make their way into the game for some reason. Quickly changed that, also bringing up the number of NPC conversations to 45. B.t.w. the "random" here applies to the NPCs, the dialogues are only slightly randomised.
Fourthly, I found some unimplemented event texts, but the events are not quite finished so... I'll need to brush them up and extend them a bit before they can be proper events.
All in all, this reduced the number of files on my Grammarly by about half. Which makes the whole list a lot more readable.
I've also done some coding. But it's not very important. Firstly I wanted to experiment with working in an HTML Canvas using JS. I just made a tesseract that rotates, nothing too impressive, but it was fairly fun. Canvas is, unfortunately, not for me, I don't particularly enjoy how it works. Secondly I uhhh... implemented neural networks into the engine. There are enough tools in there now that you can import a network trained externally (training them in the engine wouldn't make much sense) and run them. Mostly I did this because people were annoying me about NN support. I've also finished implementing bi-array sorting, which I started a while ago but never fully integrated with the API. Sadly, I still have a lot of API entries to either write or adjust though.
Yeah, not much to show, but a lot ended up getting done over the last week. I just needed to resolve the Grammarly situation because I felt I was losing texts in it and hey, I was right.
Oh! Oh! And b.t.w. have a merry Mitrhamas and have a happy new year.
Now back to writing Corny and sprucing up the apartment.
