And as for the update... I've taken a moment to go back to the intro and try a few things in practice just to see how they work. These are essentially the features I discussed last week and a few other things from earlier on. It struck me that there are mechanics completely missing from the intro that should really be there. I'll get over what we've implemented and what's left to implement, but I want to sum this up as hashing out the practical application of several different game mechanics and trying to tutorialise them throughout the intro.


These are still somewhat fluid right now, as I'm moving things around and adjusting them to balance the weight of tutorials dropped on the player at any given time. Still, you can see we've dropped in some opportunities for aura-reading and psychometry, along with re-shaping the flow of the intro to emphasise the opportunity cost of using magic like this, even against a mortal. 

We've also inserted quite a few tooltips for terms in an attempt to convey some more information to the player early on. This worked well; the tooltips do self-moderate their appearances, just as intended and can be turned out entirely from the options menu if they are not wanted.

The only thing we still need to take out for a test spin are the hidden options and gather some opinions from people about how they feel about them. Unfortunately, we ran out of time this week to do so, mainly due to my real life cutting into the time I had available this week.

The plan for the current week is to finish this implementation and see what comes of it. If it works, we'll extend the new mechanics into the rest of the intro and return to working on the park.
