Esoteric Update #105 - You Love You

Because I posted the summary a bit earlier, I ended up with extra time to work on a few things I always wanted in the game but managed to only not included.

In any case, let's kick this off with a new tradition, posting some lore.

I think it's a good pair of texts to start out with! Since at the moment I have a substantial backlog of unposted lore, I'm going to be posting at the very least two each time.

Now for the more technical details! First, I managed to get an ELIZA type chatbot integrated with the engine. It's not a very advanced bot, but it has several advantages due to its age - it's fast, and it's small. I think I'm going to play around it with making a virtual dominatrix, though more on this in a moment. Getting used to the format she uses took some time, but I think I've figured out the essential things. Unfortunately, I found that it had broken phrase inversion, so I tried to fix that, and from my testing, I think I did, but obviously, a complex enough sentence will still confuse her. I've also taken a look at the clothing-related texts. I'm still not happy with them, but I've decided to leave it as-is for the moment, just finish the ones that are lacking and instead focus on implementing clothing items. Enough to make having clothing in the game make sense, though I'll likely not add that many lewd clothes for the moment. That can come later. The clothing texts, fortunately, use an interface and I can just yoink them out and replace them with something else later.

And finally, some fluff. I managed to clear the usage of a lot of graphic files for the game. I'll for the moment leave this a bit of a secret since I think it'll be a better surprise if I don't just spoil it right now. Furthermore, Owl, the artist that did Waifu for Waifu and Dating, is making an image set for the dominatrix, here have a WIP.

Additionally, I've been studying up on some relevant topics, in particular about long-distance domming. Hopefully, I can spin this in a little feature that can be used just for that in both the game and as a separate thing you can engage with personally.
