Esoteric Update #115 - The Final Stretch

So, what's up this week? Well, some lore to start with.

Lore: Extraplanar Atlas, XIIth Edition

You'll have to excuse that there's only one text, but I had problems formatting this one in WordPress and by the time I was done I was... well... also done with dealing with WordPress for the moment.

Now, let's move to other stuff. Firstly, clothing. I finished the tops, and we also threw in glasses because... well... why wouldn't we? Clearly, this was an omission from the start! I've also made a tool that lets you browse the items and places them into your inventory, which I've been using to test them.

That brings us to the second point. I've managed to hunt down some omissions and issues with various things. There was a case of item descriptions generating incorrectly and another where the stats were messed up leading to items that would crash the game. And finally found a few items that were miscategorised and would cause the incorrect narrations to generate when describing them. Overall, I think I'm done with the testing, but there are still a few more files I need to finish filling out. I've generated the basis for these files already, but I'm now at the point where they need to be manually completed.

Overall the first batch of fashion statements contains 103 clothing templates and 2066 total items. This won't be all, but it's enough for the moment. If anything I feel the current selection is slightly biassed towards stylish and sexy choices over the more casual ones. But I'll get more into how that works next week.

So there's that. I also want to finish off or close off a few things before releasing an indev test version for the clothing system. These are details.

In the meantime, I've started getting back on track with the new story content. Yeah, it's finally time for new story content. The old code is improved, my tools are ready, they have been tested and verified to work. It took a bit, but I'm glad to finally be at this point.
