Esoteric Update #119 - Blogs And Horns

Alrighty, first post in the year of our lord, Yog-Sothoth, 2021. I guess it's as good of a time to do a retrospective on my blogging as any other. Now, later on, I'll get to game updates too, it's been a pretty fruitful week in terms of work.

So 2020 in terms of my blog first. Let's start with some numbers:

  • 44 posts published, out of the about 200 total I've made since August 2017;
  • 35,000 words across those 44 articles;
  • 3,480 views, out of 7,745 total;
  • 1,293 visitors, out of 2,692 total.

That means that despite not posting as much as I've done in the past... well, sadly I just don't have the time... I've managed to accumulate about half of the blog's traffic over the last year alone — something I've found quite interesting.

And now the most popular articles:

Damn, you horni!

Now on to the game update.

A lot of both writing and programming got done over the last few days. There's a module that can summarise a series of items. It's currently used to describe items stored inside containers, but I think I'll find other applications for it later. I've also implemented a lot of new texts and mechanics related to moving around the apartment. Sleeping and waking up is awaiting re-implementation as more texts get written (it's only about 50% done now). And there's a whole slew of dreams waiting for implementation as well. Cornelius finally has a defined personality in terms of his responses to various conversation-based stimuli. And unfortunately, I can't show much of that because it would, to an extent, constitute spoilers.

For the next week, the focus remains split between Cornelius and the apartment.
