Esoteric Update #135 - Corny's Apartment


Right, time for last weeks report. And I'd like to say that I ended up at the doctor. It turned out that because I don't feel my body properly, some things happened that would have likely got me at the doctor a lot sooner. Some medication fixed me up real quick, though.

This is old, and it might need a re-write to bring it to current standards.

Now, for development with the game, I did two big things plus some light cleaning up. The first significant addition is achievements. This was brought to my attention by someone interested in the game. After some discussions in Discord, I decided to go with it. There's not much to say about it, it's a complete implementation of the system, using grammars, so it can take effect from anywhere in the game. Here are some screenshots:



The second thing relates to progressing the AI, this time with locations. I decided to flesh out Corny's apartment to move towards doing more stuff with him. This is the result:


This is a network of locations the characters can be located at. Grey nodes represent ones where the characters can sit or kneel, yellow represents places where characters can sit, and blue... well, those are standing or leaning locations. The position of the nodes is just a sketch. It exists just for me to figure things out. Going to start fleshing out interactions that make use of this now. Next week is likely too soon for me to have something playable, but two or three weeks might result in some interactive sketches.
