Esoteric Update #171 - That's Not Fluff, Those Are Mechanics
So, time for another update. Here's the lore:

So let's start out with just a minor graphical thing. It was suggested to me by Dolly that there should be some more concrete messaging about the reason why equipment operations don't succeed. This was already present in the outfit system that I've transplanted back into the other features. So now, on top of the little fluff blurb, you get a specific message explaining what's happening:
Supposedly, some people had issues understanding that the little blurbs accurately described the issues for things not succeeding and thought the systems were broken? IDK. In any case, you indeed cannot just dress yourself in public, apart from removing your overcoat. I believe there are a few more places where messages like this could be implemented, but I'll get to that... probably tomorrow? I'll make this kind of messaging a standard for future development. I know that some people have also questioned why these limitations exist, and the gist of it is scope pruning for things we don't want to deal with, which would generate a lot of required content we're just not interested in exploring. One such case would be getting in trouble with the police for running around in a slave outfit.
Quality of life changes aside, I mostly worked on events, like I've said I would. One event got slightly extended, coming up to about 2x what it was before. The other event I tackled grew massively, though. It's a bit unfair to just throw around stuff like 30x the content since it's not new. It's backlogging from things we've already made before, and I was going to implement them as soon as possible. And that simply turned out to be now, but there's a bit more to it. I don't want to currently get too deep into it, but we're looking into some psychological models to use as support for mechanics that are still in the works here, things that will still require not only mechanical consideration but also a fair bit more writing.
Meanwhile, I have a few more events to implement, and there are a few other things in the works. There are, in particular, a few clothing items I still need to finish up, including some rather lovely lingerie items. For next week, I might try to get the clothing done and a few of the events, as there are a few I'm happy with, and I don't think they need any more work done. So those events only require a format transition.
