Esoteric Update #301 - Agh! But That's Finished At Least

I can't believe this took me almost two whole weeks to finish...

So yeah, the book page update is done; I didn't think it would be this hard, but I encountered further issues later in testing. I also spent hours testing to ensure everything worked correctly, further compounding how long this lasted. I might need to check if the old errors are related to this new one because while they look differently (things disappearing vs things not disappearing), they may be caused by the same underlying issue (which b.t.w. isn't in my code - the genuinely frustrating thing because if it were my code, I'd just go and fix it).

Well, it's not much, but:

The page can now swap between investigation modes, has a place to check if you have tools (although I'm still considering that implementation, as per what I wrote on Discord), and disable specific options when they don't make sense.

I've also been researching UV light and how various things encountered in the game would behave under such illumination. The idea is that even a page without specific hidden UV elements should still have certain properties visible when you investigate it, even if it's just fluorescent smears and minor stains.

(Note that the colours are not final.)

I've also decided to change the way derivative pages are handled. Previously, odd and even pages were separate files, but there's a two-step templating process this time. A general template file from which all of the v3 pages are generated, and then a few sub-templates that change some generation details, like establishing odd and even pages. Additionally, the general template can be changed from the level of a document file, and I might introduce more of these opportunities as needed.

Oh, and a small detail, but the v3 templates are essentially a superset of the v2 templates so that they can be swapped out easily:

I'm now moving to the specific design of the "antagonist" book, so next week's update will likely be about that. For the moment, I'm just glad this is over since I've stressed myself to the brink of sickness over it not working. If I have to re-check for malformed HTML tags one more time in the near future, I might actually explode.
